Welcome to the z/XPF portion of our web site!
The Problem: Up until now, all profiling products have relied upon “state” measurement techniques. That is, other profiling tools STOP the target address space in order to take their measurements (or a “snap-shot”, if you prefer). This approach is a lot like using an electron microscope. You get a fairly good picture of what’s going on, but the very act of measurement AFFECTS the results. Among other things, the target address space is STOPPED entirely while measurement is taking place. This artificially elongates the elapsed time for the address space. In fact, other profilers cannot measure elapsed time without setting hooks to front-end or back-end operation system functions. The Solution: z/XPF is an event-driven profiler. It uses an entirely different approach by getting all its information on the inner workings in an address space from outside that address space. z/XPF does this WITHOUT AFFECTING that which z/XPF measures. It views the target address space at the processor level from the outset, which automatically means that you’ll have more data at a more granular level. We at ColeSoft Marketing, Inc. are abundantly aware that z/XPF addresses a “mature” market. There are several well-known solutions in this area that have been prominent in the market segment for many years. They are fine product, but they use old technology and they are really, really expensive! Let’s use a common analogy: If one wishes to sell cars to people who already have cars, then the new car MUST be BETTER, CHEAPER, and FASTER. We are pleased to announce that z/XPF fits all three categories admirably, and with room to spare! If you’re used to driving a “Cadillac”, would you be interested in trading up to a Lamborghini at a fraction of the price? We would too!
